Branham Releases Report on Cool Technologies and Trends in Healthcare ICT

-

eHealthBranham Group Inc., a leading global ICT industry analyst and strategic marketing consultancy in the healthcare and eHealth space, recently released a new report entitled "Cool Technologies and Trends in Healthcare ICT."

As the Canadian healthcare system transitions from a reactive model with information silos to a proactive system of wellness with an interconnected continuum of care, several "cool" technologies are starting to find greater application. The need to control rising healthcare costs while continuing to maintain a high quality of healthcare in Canada is expected to drive the application of several advanced and disruptive technologies.

Innovative or "cool technologies" refers to novel medical technology solutions (or devices) developed to address health problems and improve quality of life. For the purpose of this report, Branham has defined a "cool technology" as one that is innovative, is recent in its application or is expected to find increased application in coming years, and is likely to significantly affect the delivery of healthcare.

"Some of the key technologies that will find increased acceptance in the healthcare community include robotics, wireless communications, biosensors, system on chip (SOC), smartphones, service platform technologies, and advanced diagnostic imaging," says Wayne Gudbranson, President & CEO of Branham Group Inc. He further states, "Some trends that will drive the emergence of innovative technologies include self-care and other alternative methods of care delivery, emergency preparedness, and the increased need for privacy and security of patient information."

The report is accessible through Branham's eHealth NOW subscription services program.
