Branham Group Releases Digital Health Update Report on Canadian Territories

Provides an important update on developments in health care and related Digital Health markets in Nunavut, Yukon and Northwest Territories in 2011-12

- Ottawa, Ontario - Branham Group Inc., a leading global Information and Communication Technology (ICT) analyst and strategic marketing consultancy, today released a report titled "Digital Health NOW Monthly – Territories Update," which provides an update on developments in the health care sector and Digital Health in three Canadian territories – Nunavut, Yukon, and Northwest Territories – over the past year.

While the populations of Nunavut, Northwest Territories, and Yukon are significantly lower than those of their provincial counterparts, an understanding of the health care delivery model in these territories is essential to a comprehensive Canadian health care landscape. While the territories all cite staffing shortages and additional pressures similar to those of the provinces, results suggest that staffing increases alone will not be a solution to the problems here over the longer term. Additional opportunities for transformation in the territories include: changes in health care delivery models; policy and regulations; procurement activities; technology; and governance and accountability.

However, vendors with solutions to minimize the financial hardship of delivering services to a small number of people distributed in remotes areas across a vast landscape would do well to work here.
