Branham Group Releases Update on Continuum of Care

This comprehensive report provides a framework for a technology-enabled, integrated model of health care delivery in Canada.

- Branham Group Inc., a leading global ICT industry analyst and strategic marketing consultancy in the healthcare and digital health space, recently completed an update to its Continuum of Care digital health model. Branham had developed a framework for the use of technology in the delivery of an integrated spectrum of health care services to citizens. The healthcare delivery system is going through an accelerated period of intense focus and requisite transformation. The fundamental basis for this transformation is the gradual move from reactive healthcare to proactive wellness with the patient at the centre. There has also been a growing recognition of the need for key stakeholders in the healthcare system to work in an integrated fashion across the complete Continuum of Care.

One of the key ingredients in this transformative movement is the need for more integrated information flows supported by healthcare ICT or digital health across the Continuum of Care. The building blocks for the Continuum of Care already exist; what's lacking is the integration and seamless exchange of information between and across these components. The acute care or hospital segment is no longer the primary point of digital health technology deployment and utilization but is one of many. Information regarding the patient must be made available to all healthcare providers.

Branham has produced a model which tracks all digital health products and services across the Continuum of Care. "We have categorized key point and multi-point digital health technologies and vendors in our model," says Wayne Gudbranson, President & CEO of Branham Group Inc. He further states, "This model is an excellent tool for digital health vendors to understand how they are positioned in the healthcare marketplace. It is also a great tool for buyers to identify a range of solutions that address their requirements."

The report has been produced as part of Branham's Digital Health NOW offering, which provides unbiased information and analysis of trends in Digital Health, and an in-depth analysis on the current state of Digital Health deployment in Canadian healthcare organizations.
